PRIVACY POLICY

We ask that only adults over the age of 18 contact us through our website and that any personal information provided about a child is only provided by a parent or guardian of that child. That said, understanding that sometimes kids can fill out a form on a website, we’ve established this Privacy Policy. Our collection of personal information is intended to follow the principles of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), a U.S. law designed to protect the online privacy of children under the age of 13.

“KidVentures Podcast” also is referred to as “we,” “us” or “our” in this Privacy Policy.

The only information we collect is represented in our online forms: parent name, e-mail, child’s name. We don’t collect cookies, IP addresses, or other hidden anonymous identifiers.

We use the personal information we collect for notifying the parents or guardians of authors whose stories we’ll perform on the podcast or artwork we’ll share in the newsletter, to coordinate specific logistical details with those parents or guardians, or to request on-air interviews with kid authors.

We always notify parents and receive written permission from them before performing their child’s story on the podcast or announcing personal information (typically the child’s name, grade, and hometown) on the recording.

Otherwise, we do not make personal information collected from children publicly available nor do we enable children to so on our platforms. We will not condition a child’s participation in any activity or service on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity.

Parents/guardians can review their child’s personal information, ask to have it deleted, and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child’s information at any time. To do so, please contact us.

The best way to reach us is through e-mail: thekidventurespodcast@gmail.com

We will update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the updated Privacy Policy online.

Involvement in your family’s online lives is one of the most important safety tools available. In addition, we encourage you to educate yourself and your child on privacy concerns. We recommend, as a starting point, the following guide published by the federal government, http://www.onguardonline.gov/articles/0031-kids-privacy

STORY SUBMISSION POLICY

1. Stories and Materials must be totally original. We aren’t able to adapt stories that are inspired by or include characters and plots from movies, television or books. Kids should use their imaginations!

2. Stories should be in kids’ own words. Adults can help kids get their stories down on paper, but there’s no need to edit or correct spelling or grammar.

3. A parent or guardian is required to submit a signed release form for any child-created content. If, for any reason, we receive content without a release, the parent or guardian agrees to the following terms and conditions:

I hereby consent to the use of the content (story and/or artwork) by KidVentures Podcast, its successors, licensees and assigns as described below.

For good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I grant to KidVentures the irrevocable and perpetual right, but not the obligation, to use my content, in whole or in part, and any elements thereof, in any manner KidVentures sees fit, in theatrical and other productions and to use, and authorize others to use, the content, or any part or element thereof, in the distribution, sale, licensing, marketing, advertising, promotion, exhibition and other exploitation of any works in all media (whether now known or hereafter developed) throughout the universe. I hereby waive any right of inspection or approval of the uses to which the content may be put.

KidVentures shall also have the right to copyright the content in KidVentures own name or any other name of its choosing and to use, and authorize others to use, the content, likeness and biographical information in connection with the content and any advertising and promotion thereof. KidVentures is authorized to record the content creator’s name, likeness, image, voice and performance on film, tape or other media. I agree that the recording may be edited and otherwise altered at the sole discretion of KidVentures and used in whole or in part for any and all broadcasting, audio/visual, and/or exhibition purposes in any manner or media, in perpetuity, throughout the world. I understand that I have no rights to the recording or any benefits derived there from. I hereby waive any right of inspection or approval of my likeness or the uses to which the likeness may be put.

I warrant and represent that I have the right to grant all rights granted herein and KidVentures use of the content as contemplated herein will not infringe on the rights of any third party. I will indemnify and hold KidVentures, its parent, successors, licensees and assigns, harmless from and against any all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of any breach of the foregoing warranty. I acknowledge that KidVentures will rely on this permission potentially at substantial cost to KidVentures and I hereby agree not to assert any claim of any nature whatsoever against anyone relating to the exercise of the permissions granted hereunder.
